Bishop Travis Cooke
Senior Pastor
Bishop Travis Cooke has served in ministry since 2003. His journey began by working on staff at David Wilkerson's Teen Challenge in Greensboro, NC. Since that time, he has served on multiple boards within the local Church and on a state level. He teaches and preaches the Word of God, holds strong Biblical values, and always promotes a fresh move of God's Spirit! Pastor Cooke and his lovely wife, Sarah, are dedicated to showing our Savior and serving the people of Randolph County and beyond. Their vision combined is one that includes reaching broken people, helping broken people find healing, and empowering them to serve Christ. Pastor Travis enjoys helping people find freedom through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Their ministry team would not be complete without Zach and Anna. The family loves spending time together, playing outside, and building healthy relationships with others.
Melissa Willien
Administrative Assistant & Children's Ministry Leader
Melissa has served as the Administrative Assistant since 2017. In this position, she oversees the daily functions of the church office and provides resources to the ministry leaders at West. She has also served over our Children's Ministry since 2012. In this role, she provides direction for children ages 3-11 years old during Sunday Morning Kid's Church service. Her desire is to teach children to truly know, love and serve Jesus so that they will make an impact on those around them. She and her husband, Kevin, have two children, Kinslee and Landry. In her spare time, she enjoys DIY projects, shopping, and spending time with her family.
Johnny Craven
Worship Leader
Johnny has served over the Music Ministry for 28 years. Music is an integral part of worship at West. In his role, he strives to lead in exalting Christ with a blend of psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs in congregational worship, choir selections, and a variety of soloists and group songs. The music at West is designed to encourage the believer, present the Gospel message of hope, and most importantly, glorify God. His desire is that we sing and present music with intent. Each service is prayerfully planned and then yielded to the anointing and direction of the Spirit. He and his wife, Celia, have been married for over 40 years. They have two daughters and four grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, spending time with his family, golf, and Christian fellowship.
Lester & Wanda Rivenbark
Outreach Leaders
Lester and Wanda have led the Bus Ministry at West since 2016. In their role, they provide a way for people in our community to attend church and build the Kingdom of Christ. Their passion is to pour into people’s lives so they may know Christ and grow in their relationship with Him. Lester and Wanda have been married for 35 years and they have two children and four grandchildren. In their spare time, they enjoy collecting things, spoiling their grandchildren, and making people laugh.
Celia Craven
Trailblazers - Senior Adult Ministry Leader
Celia has served as the Trailblazers leader for 11 years. In this role, she organizes and provides a variety of activities suitable for senior adults, 55 and over, including weekly prayer meeting, food and fellowship, day trips, Senior Adult Camp Meeting, and an annual trip to Gatlinburg, TN. She is passionate about encouraging all Trailblazers to actively engage in ministry opportunities. She also ministers to our shut-ins through visits, phone calls, and cards. Her desire is that the Trailblazers glorify Christ in all that they do. She and her husband, Johnny, love spending time with their grandchildren, Zach, Landon, John Luke, and Anna! She is looking forward to traveling in her spare time after retirement.
